The Most Important Watercolor How-To

You can find a wealth of watercolor how-to information online these days: how to mix colors, how to lay a graduated wash, how to paint trees, clouds, fur or water. But none of it does you a bit of good if you can’t figure out the most important watercolor how-to: how to find the time and energy to paint.

Sometimes life really does throw you into crisis-mode, but most of us actually do have time to paint. (For example, that time you usually spend scrolling your Facebook feed or binge-watching reruns on Netflix.) The real problem, for most of us, is that the unconscious “rules” we develop over time about how our painting practice should look don’t always keep up with what we most need from our art-making TODAY.

But a few good Anti-Rules can get you back on track!
